hang in there Jeanne. I not only have a spare room with a double bed as a guest room I also now have this room that has my computer, lap top and sewing machines. I have a single bed in here to but I think of it as my room this is due to my boys all moving out. Although the youngest has just moved out to our flat in the garage.

I was imagining my special room last night like I have so many times before. I would have my radio equipment in one corner. My computer in another with all my genealogy junk. Then I would have like a drafting table in one area where I could finally start my calligraphy. And an area for painting, even if I could not paint. And I would be able to convert it into a darkroom to develop my own pictures with all that equipment. It then became a big room and I would have to have a bigger house. Oh well, just not going to happen. For now, I have to sit at the kitchen table and be content to still do the paint-by-numbers. Hard to do all the other things in a house so small. There is just no room.
P.S. I was just kidding about the aliens!!!! I would probably get some trucker on there. I don't even know if people still do this with ham radios. But I've always wanted to be a ham radio operator.

If I move to a bigger house I'd like to have a gym room to put my running carpet (tapis roullant?) and mirrors along one wall like a ballroom. I'd like also to buy tatami and lay them on the floor to do some gymnastic or japanese arts, like the tea cerimony and the calligraphy. I'd love to arrange a room as a squash court, but that's impossible...

My room would be real simple, lots of windows though, to look outside at the trees and the sky (I do actually take the time to watch the sun rise or set, and I love watching the moon too). It would have nice table with plenty of various drawers to store all my art supplies, and maybe on the other side a desk with a computer and a big notebook so I could do some writing. And stereo, to play music. Maybe some bookshelves to store all my research books, but no fiction, I'd be to tempted to read.

Cale, did you get to see the last total lunar eclipse. That was awesome. It had a orangeish, reddish hue. It was like a kid's ball or something sitting up in the sky like you could just put your hand up there and touch it. I don't care much for sunsets and sunrises but I do like watching the night sky. Am always look forward to the meteor showers every year although the last few spectacular ones have been hidden by clouds. I would add a telescope to my room for sure. A go-to telescope. That way I wouldn't have to figure out star charts.

I was heading home from class when I saw it. I don't look through telescopes, but I go for walks after dark and like to look at the moon and the stars. I get up early and can see the sunrise out my bedroom window. As for sunsets I just like to watch them from my porch.

I can't see the sunset from my porch because of the house in front of mine and behind it there are tall trees. But I like a sunset from a beach but we don't have that here. Also, with binoculars you can see the 4 large moons of Jupiter. I think it is pretty cool but most people don't get into star gazing. Also in the city you can't see much anyways. I used to love to see the Milky Way galaxy when we went camping. Also every now and then you can catch a satellite going across the sky and the International space station. Once we saw the ISS and the shuttle together. It was really bright. You can get on a website and find out all this information on when these man-made things go across the sky.

I would have a big room with all windows facing the beach. I love to watch sunrises, sunsets, moon, stars all that stuff....I love staring up at the clouds too. I could sit there all day in a niice lounge chair with just a table for drinks and food...and maybe a book. I love storms...I would love to watch storms at sea from my window !

I wouldn't want to be in a storm at sea. I think that would scare the s... out of me. But I do like to see them from the beach. I've seen them from the beach before in Daytona. They are magnificent. But it is just my fascination with storms. I just like that humans can't mess with the weather or control it like they try to control everything. Same things go with volcanoes, earthquakes, and the like. I've seen where they have tried to mess with the weather such as diverting hurricanes but they have been unsuccessful and even if they could then the end result may be worse than the storm. But I digress again. It seems my simple pleasures are not quite so simple anymore either, lol.

I personally love storms. They can't get strong enough for me. One of my friends, well his wife, she will flip into the fetal position at the first sign of a wicked storm. My friend and I drove through a tornado producing storm on motorcycle. We were leaning about 60% that's degree's driving through hail and rain. We made it to town in one piece, but I wish we would've had a camera. When we got to my freinds house, his fiance was curled up in the fetal position and screaming. It wasn't even that big of a storm. But she was freakin. Anyway, I like storms, and I like to be in the middle of them, I like to watch them come across the lake.

I've nothing against storms when I'm at home: sometimes the electricity turns off and we need to light up candles but it's charming. I'm a little bit scared when the storm finds me driving. I know the car is a safe place to be in, but I'm not so comfortable seeing lightings falling on both sides.
It's the way Mother Nature tells us who's the leader: the hurricane in Myanmar and the earthquake in China are her last whims... I've seen most of your whirlwinds on tv: they're dreadful.

I'm with you Heath. I love storms. If I thought I could, I would love to watch a twister somehow, from a safe location. That would be a dream come true. I know how dangerous they are but I cant' help but be amazed by the power of one. Would love to experience that. Whenever we have big storms here I always get the kids excited and race them to the window or porch and sit and watch with them. I love storms, and I don't want them to be afraid like Heath was saying. So far they love them! I had a neighbor like that..she would take her four dogs down the basement and stay there with her hands over her ears and just be panic stricken.
