Very Happy THANK YOU, I am also New to this site and unfortunately the only two KEW's that I own, at the moment that is, is A ROSE IN WINTER and A SEASON BEYOND A KISS. A ROSE IN WINTER is my old time favourite so I will be DELIGHTED to chat about it next month. I am going to have to refresh my memory of SHANNA. Actually I believe that that was my first introduction to KEW some time ago. So glad that I found this site.

I know I am not reading the right book this month...but I just have to say...I am reading Shanna. I am always amazed that I can still get into it even after reading it for so long. For some reason I am really feeling the characters this time. Instead of thinking ahead about what is coming up,.I am just reading it and really getting into the pairs motivations, actions, feelings and their thoughts as they go through all their meetings. I think I am reading it trying to really get into their heads this time. I am thinking "How would I react if I were him/her in each situation," during each run in. It has made it an even better read...if that is possible.

Mariseven, that is such a good description of how to do a reread. I don't always focus in that way, but when I do, WOW! What a treat! It's almost like reading it for the first time again, isn't it?

Penny,,yeah...we all know 'what happens next' why not read to find more about why it happened. Putting yourself in their shoes really takes it to a new level..for me it did anyway. I am still reading Shanna. Ruark just got dumped on the pirate ship by Pitney. Shanna strikes back. lol

Hello again - sorry if I've missed it somewhere on the forum, but is there a reread schedule for 2008?

Hi nittenlass, this was last years scehdule. We havent really got one this year. This scehdule started out good and then we were all excited waiting for the release of Everlasting in October. Sadly when Kathleen lost her son and then a month later passed away herself it kind of threw us a blinder and we didnt keep to the schedule so well. Some people also didnt have various books or didnt want to read them or just didnt have the time. If you pick one you want to read just ask who else wants to read it with you. For some of us like myself I know the books so well that I can discuss them even if I'm not reading them with you.

Hello Brony - Thanks for explaining - I thought I might have missed it. I've just recently "rediscovered" leisure time reading. Not had much time until recently, so I'm digging out my boxes of books from the attic! I was sure I also had the Wolf and the Dove and Come Love a Stranger but I can't find them among my boxes so I'm going to order another copy of them soon.

I was so upset when I learned of KEW's passing. Here I was, just rediscovering her masterpieces and there was no chance of asking her about them. She must have been a very special lady - her insight into her characters minds was profound and totally realistic - if a bit frustrating (for example Shanna - ooh she makes me cross sometimes!).

I first started collecting KEW's books in the 1970's. Before I first read KEW, my favourite author was Georgette Heyer - she wrote Regency romance novels. Very correct and proper - "if you kissed someone you had agreed to marry them" sort of stories! So, KEW was a whole different world and much more exciting and inviting! Heyer seemed to have an insider's knowledge on the whole etiquette of the Regency period in England but most of her novels never strayed far from either the city of Bath or fashionable London.

I've just reread A Rose in Winter, Flame and the Flower, Ashes in the Wind, Forever in Your Embrace (first one) and Shanna. It was like discovering old friends!

I've just ordered Petals and So Worthy and I'm waiting patiently on them being delivered. We go on holiday this weekend and I desperately want to take one (or both!) with me! I also managed to find the Author's preferred version of Forever in Your Embrace so that's on it's way too, but it might take longer as it's coming in from the States.

Thats great I love Petals but Ashes is my favourite. I use to have the Original version of Embrace and now have the Authors preferred edition it is the only one left that I need but I would like to get them all in hardcopy.

I'm coming your way in less than 6 weeks for a Golden Oldies Rugby festival in Edinburgh the first week in september. I will be over there 2 weeks earlier doing a tour of Scotland which includes the Tattoo and then we are doing wales Ireland and part of England before the rest of our group arrives to go to the festival. My husband I are getting sooo excited.

Hi Brony, I hope you have a wonderful time in Scotland and during the rest of your tour in the UK! I'm enjoying So Worthy My Love at the moment, and I'm waiting patiently for the Author's preferred edition of Forever in Your Embrace to arrive from the States. I just finished Petals and the love between Gage and Shemaine is so gentle. It's a lovely story. Having the Beauchamps come into it at the end was great!

Yeah I liked it how she brought the Beauchamps in to it to. The play between them as siblings is awesome. I find it an honest story in that it seems to me more like her older books in the style she wrote and proberly preferred.

Yes we are looking forward to our holiday. We are both down to counting days now. My husband has broken it down to how many days work he has left now. lol.

Weather update for Brony - we had lovely sunshine last week but this week is a "wash out" in Edinburgh - loads of rain. Hope that wherever you are you get better weather and enjoy your stay.

I'm re-reading A Rose in Winter at the moment. I love this book. I'm at the part where Erienne is about to find out the real real truth about Lord Saxton ..........

Ooh - I must go put the kettle on and read more!!
