I'm just finding my way around the Forum and found this topic about which actor would be good in the character of Ruark in Shanna. How about Viggo Mortensen (as in Lord of the Rings - rugged!). Or, Orlando Bloom the way he is in "Kingdom of Heaven" - very tough and irresistible! Or James Purefoy?

Nitty....First, welcome ! Hope you hang around we like to hear differant views of the books and other topics. I think we tossed Orlando, although he is a hunk...we felt he may be too thin framed. I dont' know the other two guys you mentioned. I saw Patrick Demsy in Enchanted and I thought he would make a great Ruark...but they would have to do the movie like ..now....before he gets too old. I think he is forty already. For me to even consider someone for Ruark...who is my favorite along with Wulfgar is major for me ! I thought those were shoes that could not be filled !

For me, Patrick Dempsey is no Ruark but I've never seen anything with Patrick Dempsey. Only glimpses of him from time to time. Orlando is too thin like you said. Ruark is a especially hard for me to imagine anyone playing. Wulfgar, I think, would be good if played by that guy that played Eomer in LOTR. Can't think of his name but someone mentioned him. I think he's perfect for Wulfgar. I've always imagined Brandon being played by Steven Seagal but he's too old now. And since I learned Brandon had a beard he doesn't fit. But for some reason, I've always pictured Brandon looking this way. I know this is crazy but it is how my mind pictures Brandon.

I'm rereading flame and I see Brandon as a mix of CLive Owen and Scott Patterson (Luke from Gilmore Girls). I can never imagine an actual person, but sometimes I'll come across someone who kind of resembles or shares a quality of that character.

Yeah, I can't seem to find a "perfect" person...there is always something not quite right.

Jeanne, if I've understood who you are referring to, his name is Karl Urban, seen also in The Bourne Supremacy. Yes, he's very good looking and could be a perfect Wolfgar.

I've read on a cinema magazine that the new Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman's movie is about their homeland Australia. I haven't got the story yet, but seems interesting...

Last week I've seen a movie with Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro (she was a widow and he was a drug addict). I can see that Benicio isn't exactly handsome, but I've found him so charming in that movie.
