| They almost did that in Indy once. Get rid of the road kill pick-up crew. Darn it would have been good eatens.

"There must have been other women over the years, Indy."
"Yeah well they all had the same problem sweetheart, none of them were YOU."
My favorite line.

| I'm going to see it today!!! I hope that it is good and exciting!!! I love adventure movies. They are so fun. I wonder how Harrison Ford will look!! But he has always been sexy to me. I remember him talking once about how he was snubbed by some movie producer when he was first starting out and that movie producer (or whoever he was) said that Harrison Ford would never amount to anything. That guy actually told Harrison this!! Well, I guess he showed him!!!!

| Jeanne, I'm glad you liked it. There was such good dialogue in the movie, George Lucas must of kept himself far away from that, because the same can not be said for the prequels. That line was my favorite too.

| There is a favorite part that I liked between Indy and Marion but I can't say it because Mari hasn't seen the movie and I don't want to spoil it for her.

| Also while watching the film, my mom and I noticed that the falls looked a lot like Iguacu falls in Southern Brazil and in Argentina. So I looked it up and they did use those falls in the movie. She just said that the Amazon didn't have big falls like these and I told her that I thought maybe they were Iguacu falls. I have always wanted to see these falls but while I was in Brazil, I ran out of money and couldn't go.

I liked Romancing the Stone, except for Michael Douglas. I remember thinking it was very much an Indy rip-off, and Michael Douglas just can't pull off that type of character, but then I don't really care for him. I liked Kathleen Turner though, and from what I remember the sequel wasn't that bad.
Jeanne, has your mom ever been to those falls, they look beautiful.
I honestly can't think of an Indy/Marion moment that's not good. They have excellent chemistry, but I think the thing that I like the most about them is the level of friendship. I love when they're in DC, and he comes out all mad about the ark, and she says she'll buy him a drink, and he sticks out his elbow for her. They are enough alike to have common ground, and they have enough differences to complement each other, and you really see that. It just seems deeper with the "friend" element.

I don't know if my mom ever went there but I remembered that I really wanted to go. I like Romancing the stone. I just read that the screenplay was written 5 years before the movie was made. I didn't like the sequel though. Michael Douglas is fine with me but he's no Harrison Ford or Mel for that matter. Having said that I still liked Romancing the Stone a lot. Who can ever forget Joan Wilder, the romance writer!!!
The Indy moment I was talking about with Marion was just so good!!!! It is what he says to her and how she responds.
Also want to bring up the Russian thing. This movie takes place during the Cold War so who else would be our arch enemies in the 50's.

| I don't remember Russians ever being known for their sense of humor. If they have a problem with the movie, don't watch it. I find it hard to believe they've never made a movie painting the states in a bad light.

| I only really watched the first movie and remember that I enjoyed it heaps. They interviewed Harrison on TV tonight here about the movie and it was interesting. I would like to go to see it so might drag David or my son along with me. I loved Romancing the Stone. Back then I had a bit of a crush on Michael Douglas not anymore though. I found the sequel boring. I loved the scene where they fall down the mud slide. Some of the scenes were really clever.

Mmm, it's better that I watch again The Lost Ark, then.
I love Romancing the Stone so much. It has always been one of my favourite movies. Douglas was great! And De Vito was great, too, in the sequel: The Jewell of the Nile (?). I've always thought that I, as a writer, would have been like Turner at the beginning of Romanicing the Stone...
