Yeah, that's a pretty nasty time of the year for sure. But the good thing is that soon it will be nice weather!!! Lately though, I've had to turn the air conditioning on, then the heat. Goes back and forth right now.

Today was really nice. Clear sky, with a few bright clouds. A nice breeze to keep it from getting hot. I've been using any and all excuses to be outside. Everyone else is on the couch, it was my sister's birthday last night, and they stayed out late, I came home at 9:30.

Rain fell down the last two days, very poorly. But I do prefer that little rain than the heavy one, the kind you go out and get wet in two seconds even if you have an umbrella. Usually with that weather my garage fills up with water: it's a bore. I hate summer and sun, even if I was born in the late July. It takes every energy from me and I usually get fatten. I like both spring and winter (we get few snow every year, but usually we have a white Christmas) and I love fall, because of its colours.

My kids always ask why we don't have any umbrellas. I tell them we never used them and we had to walk back and forth to school and we came home for lunch...rain, sleet, snow, hail...we walked. (and of coarse it was up hill both ways. )

We lived too far to walk home from school for lunch in grade school. The grade school and high school were next to each other. It was about 3 miles away. I remember walking home though a lot in high school though. It took me a while to get home. I would like to say it was uphill but I live in Indiana and no one would believe me.

It would have taken me two hours to walk home from my high school...and even longer if the bullets were flying.

Brony I would love to get one of those crustless Quiche recipes. Maybe a good Shepards pie recipe from Andrea also.

Ok Heath here's mine! You may have to wiggle the ingredient though.

For 4

1 Llb minced steak or Lamb if it's shepherds pie
1 onion
Good dash of worcester sauce
2 beef stock cubes I use oxo (or beef reduction from a beef roast if you have it)
peas (about a good handful)
carrots( about 2 medium sliced)
salt
pepper
About 6ish largish potatoes (like Maris piper or king Edward, powdery ones)
butter
milk

Dry fry mince in pan add onions and fry until sealed, add good dash of worcester and break stock cubes up into meat and fry until coated. add water to cover add salt and pepper to taste add peas and carrots. cover and cook on low heat until gravy is shiny( at least an hour. the longer you cook mince the better. If you find the reduction is too dry add a little water but, you don't want too much the meat should be saucy but not too wet or dry, look for a thick shiny texture)
put into deep oven proof dish.
Boil potato until tender drain and mash with knob of butter and milk until creamy but not too loose. place on top of mince and spread (good tip here! always spread from the outside in that stops over spill!) bake in about 160c for what ever! until top golden and crunchy!!

There you go Heath that's what I do! It's one of my best sellers at work. Don't forget the longer you cook mince the better the flavour. Very Happy
