1) I am up to the part where "all hell breaks loose" in Come Love a Stranger....maybe I was falling asleep or something...but I got about 4 pages into this section and I was lost ! I will have to read it again. I was going along fine for the whole book and all the sudden, it was like I skipped a few chapters. I am totally confused about what is going on. Its after she hangs her dad's picture over the mantle. I need to go back and get my bearings again.
2)I refuse to write LOL again. I always hated writing it, did it so you guys would know when I was joking...you'll have to fend for yourselves now and guess when I am joking. this is the last one LOL (I am joking 95% of the time if that helps.)
3)My sister asked me a question the other day. I will pose it to you all....DISCLAIMER: Its a religious question.
She asked me: What if you were God and you looked down at the people you created and saw all the disillusionment, confusion and disbelief about doctrine and religion, what would you do ? Remember these are your children you created and you want them to succeed. What would you do ?

Interesting question. I think God gave us "free will" to make our choices but is patient with us.

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (II Peter 3:8-9)

1. I remember things starting to get confusing at that point to Mari, but reread and it'll all start to become clearer. I'm not quite there yet, but I hope to iron out a few kinks as well.
2. I honestly didn't know what lol meant until one of you ladies told me.
3. I'd be upset, but then I'd see someone whose really trying to help, and think that it's all worth it. Does it solve everything or make it right, no, but you can't have joy without pain.

Hi! I remember being somewhat confused towards the end of the book, as if I too missed something while reading it. And I wasn't satisfied, I wanted more. But overall it was a pleasurable read...
I'll keep on checking your comments, maybe something will be clarified to me.

It ends rather abruptly. I am exactly halfway through, so I'm not too deep into it. She's just left for Biloxi with her "father" and he's just gotten into the fight with the 3 fingered man, and saved Sarah.

I was really enjoying the whole story up until around the portrait thing. Then I felt like I was going over the falls rapidly and came to an abrupt end. I went back to that part and started reading again. I got to about 5 pages before the end and started to page back again, thinking I miissed something again. I think there was something in the beginning that I thought was insignificant that turned out to be really really important. The whole end was very confusing to me. The way people were reacting to what was happening...I must of missed something. It was all very...rushed or something. I am glad I was not the only one ! I am still confused about what actually happened.

Yes, the ending was abrupt, and if not for that it could've been among my favorites (and I only read few of Kathleen Woodiwiss' books). I ordered all her books on amazon.com and only last week I received them all. I currently read "So Worthy My Love" and so far I'm enjoying it very much. Hopefully it won't end as abruptly. Tell me if it does, so at least I'll be prepared and won't be too disappointed Smile

Lena, So Worthy My Love is excellent, I like to read it around Christmas time with all that snow in Hamburg. Although it doesn't end as abruptly as Stranger, it does kind of just end. What these two books could have used was just an epilogue, Stranger more so because of all the revelations that are going on. My 2 favorite epilogues were from Shanna, and Forever In Your Embrace, they were very beautifully written and gave a nice glimpse into the future. Ashes had a good one as well.

About "Shanna" I have to agree. I read this book and it was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! There was nothing about "Shanna" that I didn't like from the first 'till the last page. Regarding "Forever In Your Embrace" and "Ashes In The Wind", well I still didn't read them, so I can't really say anything about the two.

Mari, that is what i would do. Be patient and let people make their own choices. I would still love my children even if they turned away from me.

Brenna..that was kind of my answer when my sister asked me the question. I said in the bible God comes down a million times and it doesn't change anything...I said I would just let things happen if I were God. I thought she was asking me a trick question, but she wasn't. She is very into her faith.
Lena, Cale...if you figure out the ending of Come Love a Stranger could you let me know ? Lenore comes back and everyone is laughing with the pirates there...its strange. Not the reaction I would have thought. And its not really made a big deal of that she is there suddenly. How did they find her ? The whole Sarah thing confused me. Who was the brother they were visiting...? I think there is a reason I only read this one once...second time wasn't much better for me in the end.
I am going to start So Worthy next...another book I dont' know too much about since reading it many moons ago.

1)I haven't understood which part are you referring to.
2)At the beginning I thought that LOL meant Lots of Love. Thanks to emoticons I've found out it was Laughs. When we write, it's difficult to understand if you're joking or not, it can be useful to not offend anyone.
3)Mmm, I, as God, probably look down to my children, shaking my head, and thinking something like 'I gave them all the indication to find the treasure, but it seems they're too grown up to play...'

I made up a bunch of questions that I'll post with the answers once I'm finished, like How did Ashton get Lenore's portrait, What si the significance with the Wedding Dress from the Biloxi house, and how did Malcolm know about it, etc. to really have all the threads tied up.
