| KEW's birthday is in a couple of days, and the boards have been slow, so I decided to see if anyone had any special memories pertaining to KEW, her books, her self, her legacy, etc. We've discussed how we all found her before, but was there ever a moment(s) that maybe were really cool. I have a few, one of them being my quest to get Everlasting. My car was in the shop, Walmart didn't have it out, and I had no way to get to the nearest book store. Luckily my mom had to go into the city on business, I ran in and there it was on the shelf right as I walked in the door. I did a happy dance, then went to pick it up. When I reached for the book, it hit that not only was this the first time I'd be buying a newly released KEW book but also the last. I might have said before, but she's the only person I've never met/had any kind of personal interaction with that has inspired me. All my other inspirations are family, friends, teachers, etc.

| A special memory for me is when i went on the official website for the first time and listened to an interview that KEW gave for the Reluctant Suitor. I remember thinking to myself that here was a woman who had a very warm, down to earth, personality that made me feel like she was talking to me when she talked about her work. It really struck me when she said she liked to "show a love between a man and a woman, the gentleness in a marriage or between lovers". Now when i read her books i feel as though i understand what she desired to bring to her readers. She will be missed.

His last words were jolted from him as a slender, raggedly clad form crashed into him, nearly knocking him back upon his heels and sending his hat and the milliner's box flying helter-skelter. A frightened screech, definitely of a feminine origin, squelched his startled oath as he struggled to regain his balance and, at the same time, assist the young woman who was teetering precariously toward him on her toes. He straightened to his full height, clasped her narrow waist, and stood her safely upright as he mentally prepared a tactful apology. Then he found himself staring down into the wildest, most vivid blue-green eyes he had ever seen in his entire life. A copious wealth of deep auburn hair tumbled in unrestrained confusion around a tear-stained, dirt-streaked face, the sublime beauty of which Mrs. Brewster had just been doubting the existence of.
He was momentarily awestruck as an old familiar dream came winging back to him, one wherein he found himself running across a rolling meadow, chasing the love of his life. Though he had never glimpsed the woman's face... until now. It was as if he stood once again on the very brink of the same illusion and hooked down upon a visage he had both desired and cherished for at least half a lifetime. (Kathleen E. Woodiwiss, The Kiss)
Every word is magic, every book is a dream.
A candle to the novelist who made me believe in the existence of the true love.

hi guys, sorry i was lost in space for a while....i just remember KEW death anniversary now, so i have to check the forum to see what's happening. I've light a little candle for her, i know she's in good hand.
i never knew who KEW before, it was from a friend of mine, that told me about her. i've read a lot of novels and got tired of their same plot and happy endings...then one day, i went to a second hand store. i love browsing, and looking on the deepest corners of the store, so for an hour i was looking, and looking, until finally, i spotted a glossy dark pink cover, entitled "Forever in your Embrace" by Kathleen Woodiwiss. I was so happy its like finding a treasure...this started may love affair with her books, and from then up to now, i treasure her writings so much...i can't believe she's gone.

Wow a year has gone by so quickly. Heath my love and thoughtful prayers are with you, your family, friends and those special to your mum.
My most exciting and vivid memory of your mum was buying my first novel. I had been purchasing a novel each week with my babysitting money on my way to singing practice. I would spend hours browsing and had usually purchased Horse type novels such as the Silver Brumby Series etc. I had the week before finished the last in the Laura Ingalls; Little House on the Praire series. The final one was written by Lauras daughter Rose Wilder and was more a realistic look at their life without the romantisism of Laura's books. It was a step up from the rest of the series and I still have them today.
I kept browsing picking up different books and had made a decision to buy something a little different. I guess I was ready to spread into a more worldly more mature novel.... and then I spotted it......on the shelf. It was larger than the others in the row and stood out not just because of its height but the beautiful script on the spine which looked so romantic. I can still picture myself reaching for it and running my hand over the cover which had raised writing over the front cover. There was a picture on the front of a couple embrassing; he was extremely handsome and she beautiful with long flowing hair. I turned it over and read........
A novel ablaze with the flames of a magnificent passion that captures the clash of wills of two proud people: Alaina MacGaren, the impudent, plantation bred beauty whose recklass bravado could never be crushed-until she met the one man whose sheltering arms made her incapable of reason...and Cole Latimer, the tall, ramrod straight Yankee surgeon who rescues her, is deceived by her again and again, but who can never forget the night his soul was seared by a body clothed only in mystery .......
how could I not be captured and the rest as they say is herstory
I have recently purchased my 4th copy of Ashes

Brony that's such a nice story, makes me want to pick up Ashes.
I saw a show that took place in New Zealand the other day, I never realized how beautiful the countryside is.

Hello!
I am a brand new KEW reader. I just read my very first of Kathleen's books (The flame and the flower) and I was floored! I really loved it. How unfortunate for me to find out the author I just recently discovered has now passed.
